We decided we didn't want to spend 7 weeks hanging around Rexburg when we could go to Montana and Colorado instead! So, off we went! Our break started out in Montana, spending time with the Joneses. :] We ended up having a family reunion on my Mom's side (Himmelsbach), so it was our family, my grandparents, and aunt and uncle. We spent the reunion up at Tanglewood, and what better way than the tradition of roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire? It was great spending a few weeks with all of the family and just relaxing some. We loved playing all kinds of games such as BANG!, Carcasonne, Nickel, and Trump. It was great getting an updated family picture too, since the last one we had was in 2007. Crazy to think it's already outdated though, since Mackenzie was just born a month later. We also spent a couple hours driving through the Cooke City Pass. It was gorgeous & I hadn't been through there in YEARS! Kurt loved getting to see it and we took tons of pictures on our phone. I'll have to update those later.
After all the excitement in Montana, we headed to Colorado to spend a few weeks. Of course we had to made the trip to the Denver Zoo! It was so great going with Erik, Anna-Lise, the kids, Derrick, and Kara. We had fun seeing everything again. We miss seeing animals in Rexburg.
After the Bear attack that happened at the Soda Butte Campground in MT while we were in Red Lodge, I was glad to be looking at a Grizzly who was contained, and not going to eat me in my sleep.
We got to try a lot of new things this break and one of them was being in the 7th row at the Pre-season Broncos game (against the Detroit Lions)! They ended up losing, but it was still really neat getting to see them play. Neither of us had ever been to an NFL game before and so we took a lot of pictures to document it. Here are just a few to follow.
Another thing we always end up doing when we go to Denver is we love walking up and down the 16th street Mall. It was a really warm day, but it was fun getting to see crazy people! Haha. Too bad Robo Cop wasn't there this time. We decided to eat at Tokyo Joe's, and we really enjoyed it! Aside from that I also tried Qdoba, Chipotle, Chili's and Chik-Fil-A for the first time. Mmm, mmm, good! Haha. Although I do have to say I liked Qdoba better than Chipotle.

After all of these exciting things, it was time to head home, and we decided to take a different route home. We decided to travel through Jackson Hole. It was our first time travelling through there, and we couldn't believe how pretty it was compared to the vast majority of Wyoming as a whole. All in all, we had a great trip, but were ready to be back home and not living in suitcases anymore. It was great to forget about things for awhile because now we just have to keep going with school until we finish in July! (Then I just have student teaching!)
